We're a family owned business run by Cheri and Mark Shipowick. Cheri's background is in cooking in the school system in Florida and at a wellness centre in Virginia. Cheri also worked for five years on a no-spray, non-GMO farm. Born in Kentucky and raised in Florida, southern home cooking comes naturally. While working at Hartland Lifestyle Centre in Virginia as a vegan cook Cheri took courses in healthy living and helped patients apply natural remedies. She's familiar with herbs, hydrotherapy techniques, message, charcoal and clay poultices and other natural healers. Mark is from Ontario, Canada. His mother is a Virginian, his father Canadian. Mark worked for the Canadian government before coming to Hinton. He's a life-long vegetarian with a long-time interest in sustainable, healthy living and natural food products. Our goal is: 1) To make healthy living affordable and 2) to make it attractive. We've learned by experience that living healthfully is within the reach of everyone. Locally grown whole foods, simply and tastefully prepared, are a start. Then enjoying the phenomenal beauty of nature here in the New River Gorge, balancing work and recreation etc is a good follow-up. We view our business as a success in direct proportion to our impact on our customer's physical and spiritual health.
